I’m so honoured to share that my short story, “But for the Streetlamps and the Moon and All the Stars” has made the short list for the Howard O’Hagan, an Alberta Literary Award 2015 for short fiction. I’ll find out in May at the awards gala whether or not it actually wins, but honestly – to sit on the same list as high caliber writers like Lee Kvern and Sheryl Normandeau? I’m a winner by association!
This story was inspired by an 2014 Alberta crime, and published by Tahoma Literary Review.
I’ll be reading at the shortlist reading event at Audreys Bookstore on May 3rd (more details to follow).
Here’s an article on other Edmonton area authors who made the list. I’ll post the full list of finalists for all categories once it’s up.
